It is with pleasure I welcome Michelle Marvig to The Quilting Room Retreats.
Michelle has worked in the Australian patchwork industry for the last 24 years. Over this time, she has designed and published hundreds of patterns for beautiful machine pieced quilts, written three books and eight instructional DVD’s. Michelle’s skills have enabled her to design several fabric lines that complement her style of patchwork. A multiple award winning quilt artist, Michelle makes machine pieced quilts with a traditional bent, but loves to change the designs through colour and fabric choice. She also loves to teach her students the possibilities within a quilt design. Michelle is also an accomplished traveller, and hosts patchwork tours to fabulous destinations several times a year. More recently, Michelle has been appointed Chief Editor for the popular Australian quilt magazine, Quilters’ Companion.
Michelle is offering a choice of three projects for this workshop.
Pigalle is a most amazing quilt using templates. Michelle will teach you all the tips and techniques to explore endless possibilities with these templates. The blocks will be looked at over the two days with some but not all completed.
Modern Mariners cushion and Pink Whirling Dirvish are foundation pieced designs that can be used for a cushion, table runner or carry bag.
