As I sat in the rocking chair on the porch in Bird in Hand, Lancaster, I wished that I could make an Amish quilt that would capture the essence of this beautiful countryside and it’s culture. Watching the horses trot by pulling the black Amish buggies, while experiencing the Amish community, was unforgettable. Alas I did not find any quilt patterns that I felt encompassed the essence of this land.
Five years later, I happened to discover an American quilt designer, Carl Hentsch. Carl has the most amazing skill in quilt design and colour.
